My recent visit to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen was thoroughly enjoyable! The star of the meal was undoubtedly the perfectly cooked steak, seasoned expertly to enhance the natural flavors of the meat. The steak had a delectable char on the outside, which added a nice texture contrast to the juicy tenderness inside. Accompanying the steak were sides of mashed potatoes and rice. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, with just the right amount of buttery richness, while the rice was light and fluffy, providing a nice balance to the hearty steak. The gravy served alongside added a savory, umami-packed finish that tied all the components together beautifully. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying, well-prepared meal in a welcoming atmosphere.

After a long weekend of travel and a surprise snowstorm, we opted to grab a quick bite of dinner before our last leg of the trip home.
Cheddar’s has always been consistent, and our girls love it, so we pulled in. The hostess greeted us immediately, and our server Andrew F (@cheddar’s if you’re watching, this guy deserves a raise) set us up with drinks and croissants.
We ordered, the kitchen killed it and had us eating in no time in weather that almost surely had them short staffed.
Not only was the service great and the promptness top notch, but the food was off the chart. I travel a good bit for work, and frequently take clients to steakhouses across the eastern US.
The sirloin I ordered was not only considerably cheaper, but cooked to perfection and the best tasting steak that I’ve had in quite some time. Two of my family members ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and the other ordered a Monte Cristo. The burgers were huge and nicely cooked, the breading on the Monte Cristo was exquisite and the fries were wonderfully seasoned.
Long story short, whoever is in charge of this restaurant understands leadership. Every member of the team is driving toward the goal of customer experience, and the experience was awesome. If you’re looking for a good meal in Beckley, WV: look no further.

Traveling from Chicago, staying in the Skyline Lodge area. Restaurants are far and few in between out here!
The man absolutely loved it, I loved the sides, I'm more of a sides gal anyways. I got the meatloaf, it was good for the first time having meatloaf that wasn't a home cooked family recipe.
My partner got steak & shrimp, forgot to snap pics after a long day of hiking and sightseeing 😅
The interior is stunning, & Garret was an attentive sweetheart. If we are ever in the area again we will def be back!

Dependably good comfort food. This is a great place to come and warm up on a cold evening. The chicken pot pie, Alfredo, or ribs are my go to. You can’t beat sitting at the bar and watching the fish tank. The bartender, Aimee, is awesome!

Wow first time here and I'm impressed with this place. Staff were wonderful. The first (free!?) round butter croissant was great 😋. My chicken tenders were hot, crispy and not at all greasy. Fries were alright, but I'm glad they subbed a side cesar salad for me just for $1 extra. Everything tasted fresh. Will be back again!!

Honestly, we have not been so impressed with a restaurant in a long time. From the moment you see the outside seating area from the parking lot, you know you are somewhere with people who care. The menu was diverse and unique. The server was so patient and helpful. The atmosphere is sublime. And the prices for all of it including a large foo-foo drink we're very good. Go there, I'm sure you'll love it.

So went here because it sounded cheesy (pun intended) as well as many locals recommended it so I checked it out with my friend and we both 5 star enjoyed it thoroughly!!! Waiter was Cam'ron he did great all the food came out faster than expected! The shrimp appetizer was so tasty and our food was delicious! Looking forward to coming back and hoping they'll bring one to the eastern panhandle some day!

So, we set at the bar with Sarah behind the bar. She made everything easy. She treated us like royalty. My wife had a steak and I had the number 8 chicken tenders dinner with hot honey sauce, and OMG, it's the absolute best. Enjoy your visit!

If you ever find yourself drifting through Beckley and your stomach starts whispering sweet nothings… make a hard left into Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen.
This place is a bit of a delightful plot twist. From the outside, you might expect the usual—but step inside and suddenly you're in a cozy little universe where the cocktails are dangerously good (and somehow still kind to your wallet), the bar feels like home base, and the food? Way more scratch-made magic than you’d ever guess.
And let’s talk about Amy. If hospitality were an Olympic sport, she’d have a gold medal and a signature cocktail named after her. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it—just pure, effortless excellence.
Whether you're a road warrior passing through or a local in need of a reliable good time, Cheddars delivers that rare combo: great vibe, great food, zero regrets.
Go hungry. Leave happy. Possibly stay for one more round than you planned. 🍸

The wife and I had a late dinner (8pm) here on a Wednesday. We were pleasantly surprised by the pleasant atmosphere (not too crowded or noisy). Our server Sarah was very nice and attentive.
My dinner was the bourbon glazed salmon and shrimp with broccoli cheddar casserole and green beans. All of it was well prepared and flavorful.
My wife got the rib eye steak with baked potato and corn. She said the steak could have been better and did contain more fat and gristle than you would expect for the price.
All in all it was a very nice dinner and next time we will steer away from the steak.
